A vast Victorian cemetery of 1855 on the city’s edge that slid into abandonment, its acres swallowed by vines and saplings and its brownstone gatehouse crumbling, until volunteers began cutting it back out of the wild. Betsy Ross once lay here. Eerie, enormous and half-reclaimed by the forest, a real lost place inside the city.
