A garden cemetery of 1836 on a bluff above the Schuylkill, one of the first grand rural cemeteries in the country and a National Historic Landmark, thick with marble angels and the graves of Civil War generals and Titanic dead. It runs history and lantern tours, and the setting alone earns the reputation. Public, and worth a slow afternoon.
