Fort Mifflin

Hog Island Road, Philadelphia (PA)

The river fort below Philadelphia that took the heaviest bombardment of the Revolution in 1777, its garrison holding just long enough to save Washington’s army before the walls came down. Restored and open for tours, it is one of the most reported haunted sites in the country: the screaming woman, the faceless man, the boy in the powder magazine. Real history, real ground, on the Delaware by the airport.
