The largest ice cave on Earth, high in the Austrian Alps above Werfen. The name means “World of the Ice Giants,” and the first kilometre is filled with towering ice formations that form where winter air freezes the seeping water, renewed every year. You climb to it, then tour it by carbide lamp in the cold. PUBLIC, summer season only (it is snowed in otherwise).
