The roof of Delaware is a benchmark at the roadside, 447 feet up

The highest ground in Delaware is a survey benchmark at 447 feet, and the only state high point lower than it anywhere in the country is Britton Hill in Florida at 345. There is no summit to speak of, no view and no scramble. There is a geodetic monument set into the ground beside a suburban road. If you collect the roofs of states, this is the cheapest one in America to add to the list, and it is worth doing precisely because it is so completely undramatic.
