Kremnica gold

Gold, silver

One of medieval Europe’s great gold towns. Kremnica in Slovakia has minted coins continuously since 1328, the longest-running mint in the world, striking the ducats that made the Hungarian kingdom rich from gold dug out of the hills around it. The old town, the mint and the mining galleries survive. PUBLIC town + mint museum, Slovakia.
