The rugged one: a hard-rock Herkimer-diamond dig near Fonda where you swing a sledge at your own dolostone for the biggest, sharpest crystals in the region. No frills, bring heavy tools and muscle; the rock does not give them up easy, and that is why the pockets here are legend.
