The old Purse State Park on Wades Bay, now part of the Nanjemoy Wildlife Management Area: no buildings, a Potomac riverbank and a beach that Maryland DNR itself names for fossil hunting. The teeth run small, a quarter inch to an inch, and they are more than twice the age of the Miocene teeth at Calvert Cliffs. Tides decide how much beach there is, so check the chart, then scoop the wave line with a fine sieve, best of all after a good rain.
