The odd six-sided brick house near the White House that sheltered President Madison and Dolley after the British burned the mansion in 1814; the Treaty of Ghent was signed in its upstairs study. One of the oldest haunted houses in Washington, with a bell that rings itself and a woman on the spiral stair. Now a museum of architecture.
