The moonshine capital that became a visitor centre car park
A town in western Trigg County, established in the nineteenth century and known through Prohibition for its moonshine. It is not there any more. The TVA began altering this country with flood-control dams in the 1930s, and the ground Golden Pond stood on is now the headquarters of the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, about 11 miles west-southwest of Cadiz. A whole community became a visitor centre and the name stayed on the map.
