Incorporated to avoid a neighbour, disincorporated at population zero

A quarry town in Talladega County that incorporated in 1910 for one reason: to stop neighbouring Sylacauga annexing it. It worked, and then the town slowly emptied anyway. Seven people still lived there in 1998; the census recorded a population of zero in 2000, and again in 2010, and again in 2020. It was formally disincorporated at the end of 2001, which makes it one of the few American towns with a precise date of death on the record.
