Six hundred acres of Mississippian town, lived in for 350 years
More than 600 acres of Mississippian town about eight miles southeast of Evansville, built and lived in from around AD 1100 to AD 1450. This was a large residential and agricultural community, not a ceremonial site people visited, and it is one of the best preserved of its kind anywhere. The Indiana State Museum runs it.
