The most famous haunted house in Wisconsin is now a ruin: a lakeside mansion on West Bay Lake whose owners in the 1970s described doors that would not stay shut, a shape in a window, and a hidden compartment behind a closet. Lightning finished it in 1988 and only the foundations and chimneys still stand in the woods. The land is PRIVATE, and the standing structure is unsafe, so this is one to know about and read about rather than trespass on.
