High on Isinglass Mountain in Grafton, New Hampshire, the Ruggles Mine is one of the oldest mica and beryl pegmatite mines in the country, opened in 1803. Its open galleries and tunnels have long been a rockhound draw for beryl, rose quartz, garnet and more than a hundred and fifty minerals.
