Widow Jane Mine, Rosendale

New York

An abandoned underground cement mine at Rosendale, its great stone pillars now standing in still water, open to wander and used for concerts. Rosendale natural cement built the Brooklyn Bridge and the base of the Statue of Liberty; this is some of the ground it came out of.
