Population 7, countin one coon dog, and closed now

IT IS SHUT, and it is still worth knowing about. The Booger Hollow Trading Post opened in Pope County in 1961 and sold hillbilly novelties to passing tourists alongside lye soap, honey and sorghum, under a sign reading Population 7, countin one coon dog. The Boogerhollow Chuckwagon Cafe served a boogerburger and a boogerdog. It is one of the purest examples of the roadside attraction that the American highway used to run on, and like most of them it did not outlive the traffic.
