Said since a 1974 student-newspaper piece to be one of seven gates to hell, with the devil due twice a year. Historians and the people who actually live in Stull are united that none of it has any basis and that students invented the whole thing. Read the ground, not the legend, and note this one properly: after years of vandalism the cemetery is locked at night and patrolled, and trespassing here carries up to six months and a $1,000 fine.
