A gold camp that emptied slowly instead of burning, which is why it stands nearly whole: cabins with the wallpaper still up, the hotel with its staircase. Winter caretakers report doors and footsteps in buildings they just locked. BLM-preserved; the surrounding gulches carry real placer records.
