The granite of the Pikes Peak country grows one of the most beautiful mineral combinations in the world: sky-blue amazonite feldspar and jet smoky quartz together in the same pocket, sometimes with sherry topaz and phenakite. The Lake George and Crystal Peak area is the classic ground. Much of it is a patchwork of PRIVATE claims and some fee-dig operations, so know whose ground you are on; the material is a highlight of every major museum. Teller/Park County.
