The Nkisi and the Ugandan Ssese spirits

Lake Victoria’s Ssese Islands are the spiritual heartland of Buganda tradition, home of Mukasa, the great benevolent lake god of the Baganda, whose shrine drew pilgrims from across the kingdom.
