A pine boomtown that lasted exactly as long as the pine did

A logging boomtown in Eau Claire County, also called Porterville, which stood between Brunswick and Eau Claire at 771 feet. Wisconsin ran on white pine for a few decades and towns like this one existed entirely to cut it and float it downriver. When the pine was gone there was no second reason for the place to be there, and it went the way the timber did.
