A nineteenth-century mill town you can still read in the stone walls
A mill town stood here through most of the nineteenth century and what is left of it is foundations, stone walls and ditches, threaded through 1,569 acres of deep forest, millpond and marshland on the Blackledge River. It is a state park now, in the towns of Hebron and Bolton, off Route 85 and backing onto Meshomasic State Forest, so the ruins come with a car park and a swimming pond. Walk the stone walls and the street plan is still readable under the trees.
