Sauk Centre’s 1901 hotel stands where an earlier hotel burned, and a young Sinclair Lewis worked here as a night clerk before he wrote Main Street about this town. It is among the most heavily investigated buildings in the Midwest, with a long, patient log of guest accounts, and the owners keep the record rather than the theatre. PUBLIC hotel; they run their own investigations.
