A former county poorhouse of 1827 at East Bethany, where the poor, the orphaned, the sick and the insane were housed for over a century and many were buried in unmarked ground on the property. Now privately run for history and ghost tours, it is a regular of the paranormal-television circuit. The building and its potter’s-field history are real; the hauntings are the draw.
