A museum of the naturally mummified dead, in the silver city of Guanajuato. The dry, mineral-rich soil and the crypt conditions mummified bodies buried in the city cemetery in the 1800s and 1900s, and when families could not pay the burial tax the bodies were disinterred, so well preserved, with hair, skin and anguished expressions intact, that the town began charging to see them. It is macabre and real, over a hundred mummies including some of the smallest ever found. PUBLIC museum, Guanajuato.
