Officially the most haunted place in India. The ruined fort-city of Bhangarh in Rajasthan was abandoned centuries ago, and legend blames a curse, a sorcerer’s doomed love for the princess, that killed everyone and forbade the town ever to be rebuilt or roofed. The Archaeological Survey of India posts a genuine sign banning entry between sunset and sunrise, which is about as official as a haunting gets. It is a real, atmospheric, empty ruin in the Aravalli hills. PUBLIC by day, near Alwar, Rajasthan.
