Nefertiti was queen at the height of the Amarna period and may have ruled Egypt in her own right, and her burial has never been identified. In 2015 an Egyptologist proposed from high-resolution scans that Tutankhamun’s tomb has voids behind its painted walls, possibly an earlier, larger burial with the boy king added into an antechamber. Radar surveys followed and contradicted each other; the most careful later work found no clear cavity. The question is open rather than answered, and the Valley of the Kings keeps producing surprises.
