The southern anchor of the Outlaw Trail, and the one hideout the law essentially never entered. Butch Cassidy and the Wild Bunch wintered in this maze of slickrock canyons in southeastern Utah because a posse could not follow without being seen for miles and could not water their horses without being ambushed. Cassidy kept a cabin here. It is BLM canyon country now, spectacular and genuinely remote, and people still get into serious trouble in it. Carry water, tell someone, and do not trust your phone.
