As Japan lost the Pacific war, gold and loot plundered across Asia was, the story goes, hidden by General Tomoyuki Yamashita in caves and tunnels across the Philippines. Treasure hunters have dug for eighty years, one man won a famous lawsuit claiming he found some, and the Philippine government still issues treasure-hunting permits. Historians are largely skeptical the hoard existed at that scale. People have died in collapsing tunnels chasing it, so this one is told with a warning.

The Club 49 map pins this legend at its documented country, beside the real mines, active claims, land status and modeled honey holes of the same ground. Open the free map and go stand in the story.
