Documented folklore from the Club 49 map, told straight and sourced.
From 1965 to 1975 a pure-white deer the neighborhood named Lucy roamed Presidio Park and Mission Hills, source disputed, zoo escapee or a rich woman's freed pet, beloved either way. She died in the 1975 tranquilizer capture meant to save her from the highway, and the city's grief built her a monument and bench at Inspiration Point. Ever since, walkers at dawn and dusk report a white deer in the trees, sometimes solid, sometimes mist.
Presidio Park, San Diego. Source: San Diego local history; her monument stands at Inspiration Point. The Club 49 map pins this legend at its documented country, beside the real mines, active claims, land status and modeled honey holes of the same ground. Open the free map and go stand in the story.
