The Selbyville Swamp Monster

Documented folklore from the Club 49 map, told straight and sourced.

The story

The Great Cypress Swamp on the Delaware and Maryland line grew its own monster: a shaggy, screaming thing the locals swore stalked the dark cedar water around Selbyville. In 1964 a newspaperman admitted he had faked some sightings for fun in a fright mask, but the older stories, and the sightings after, never fully stopped. The swamp is real, a rare wild remnant; the monster is the folklore it wears.
