The Proctor Valley monster

Documented folklore from the Club 49 map, told straight and sourced.

The story

San Diego's own roadside beast: a seven-foot cow-headed thing blamed for livestock kills along the gravel stretch between Chula Vista and Jamul, starring in the old parked-couple tale every local teenager hears sooner or later. An eighteen-inch footprint cast sits in the Bonita Museum, which skeptics note looks a lot like a Bigfoot cast. Drivers also tell of a pair of headlights with no car behind them that chase you to the pavement and vanish.

The ground it haunts

Proctor Valley Road, Chula Vista to Jamul (San Diego County). Source: San Diego County urban legend; the footprint cast is kept at the Bonita Museum. The Club 49 map pins this legend at its documented country, beside the real mines, active claims, land status and modeled honey holes of the same ground. Open the free map and go stand in the story.
