Documented folklore from the Club 49 map, told straight and sourced.
In 1864 a party led by a man remembered only as Adams was guided to a canyon east of the White Mountains where gold lay thick in a creek above a cabin. Apaches wiped out most of the party; Adams escaped and spent the rest of his life failing to find the canyon again. The hunt for the Zigzag Canyon has burned a century and a half of boot leather along the Arizona and New Mexico line.
