The Goatman

Documented folklore from the Club 49 map, told straight and sourced.

The story

Prince George’s County has told the story of the Goatman since the 1970s: a half-man half-goat that stalks the woods around the old Agricultural Research Center at Beltsville, born, the tale says, of an experiment gone wrong. The sightings cluster along Fletchertown Road and the lovers’ lanes. Pure Maryland campfire lore, and the woods it haunts are real.

The ground it haunts

Beltsville / Bowie (Prince George’s County, MD). Source: Suburban Maryland folklore, told as exactly that. The Club 49 map pins this legend at its documented country, beside the real mines, active claims, land status and modeled honey holes of the same ground. Open the free map and go stand in the story.
