The Devil’s Chair, Cassadaga

Documented folklore from the Club 49 map, told straight and sourced.

The story

Cassadaga is a real town of spiritualist mediums, founded in 1894 and still full of them. In the old Lake Helen cemetery on its edge sits a brick graveside bench the stories call the Devil’s Chair: leave an unopened beer on it overnight and it is said to be empty by dawn, and sit in it at midnight and the Devil will speak in your ear. The chair and the psychic town are entirely real; the rest you test yourself.

The ground it haunts

Lake Helen / Cassadaga (Volusia County, FL). Source: A real chair in a real spiritualist town, wrapped in dare-legend. The Club 49 map pins this legend at its documented country, beside the real mines, active claims, land status and modeled honey holes of the same ground. Open the free map and go stand in the story.
