The Clear Creek coin wagon

Documented folklore from the Club 49 map, told straight and sourced.

The story

Lore holds that a Mormon wagon train lost roughly $60,000 in gold coin when a wagon overturned in flooded Clear Creek near Redding. A matching coin was reportedly found decades later, in 1910.
