Documented folklore from the Club 49 map, told straight and sourced.
In 1864 couriers carrying money and jewels raised in Mexico for the Ju\u00e1rez cause buried the lot on a hillside by Cahuenga Pass. Nearly everyone who touched it afterward died sudden or strange, the famous curse, and in 1939 Los Angeles let treasure hunters dig beside the Hollywood Bowl with the press watching. Twenty-four days of digging, nothing. It has never been found.
Cahuenga Pass, above the Hollywood Bowl (Los Angeles). Source: Los Angeles history; the 1939 Hollywood Bowl dig was covered live by the papers. The Club 49 map pins this legend at its documented country, beside the real mines, active claims, land status and modeled honey holes of the same ground. Open the free map and go stand in the story.
