Gold Bluffs beach gold

Documented folklore from the Club 49 map, told straight and sourced.

The story

In 1850 the black sands of the Klamath and Humboldt coast near Orick sparked a mania, with promoters claiming the beach itself was paved with gold. There is real fine gold in the sand, but never the fortune that was promised.

The ground it haunts
