Champ of Lake Champlain

Documented folklore from the Club 49 map, told straight and sourced.

The story

The long lake on the New York and Vermont line has its own monster, Champ, reported since the 1800s and photographed, contested, in 1977. Both states have passed resolutions protecting the creature, which may make it the only lake monster with two legislatures on its side. The lake is deep, cold and beautiful; the monster is the reason you keep watching the water.

The ground it haunts

Lake Champlain (NY / VT line). Source: Lake-monster folklore, protected by two state legislatures. The Club 49 map pins this legend at its documented country, beside the real mines, active claims, land status and modeled honey holes of the same ground. Open the free map and go stand in the story.
